Senior Backend Engineer

What this is about

alm builds software that stays in production: multi-tenant platforms for energy brands, middleware for retail groups, AI features in patent law. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you are at the front of exactly this work. You design and build services, APIs and data flows that other teams can keep running without us after the handover. For us, that is the explicit goal, not a side effect.

What you build with us

• Backend services and APIs for platforms that run several brands or tenants
• Integrations into enterprise landscapes built up over years, from legacy systems to cloud-native
• Data pipelines and interfaces that carry AI features in production
• Architecture decisions made together with the client, documented and justified

What you bring

• Several years of experience in backend engineering, for example with Node/TypeScript, Java, Kotlin or .NET. The stack depends on the project, the mindset doesn't.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS or Azure) and container environments
• You can talk to clients: question requirements, explain trade-offs, say no when you have to
• German and English, confident enough for client workshops in the DACH region

How we work

Owner-managed since 2019, between Munich and Lake Constance. Small project teams with a lot of responsibility, direct client relationships without layers in between, remote-friendly with real places to meet in Munich.
