A wave of opt-outs

With the launch of the Unified Patent Court, every affected European patent needed its own decision, filing and signature. The law firms' tools were not built for that.

7,235 patents have gone through the opt-out with Patent Studio, and five law firms use the tool actively. At market launch, alm was one of the earliest providers with AI features in production in patent law in the German-speaking region. Active development has ended; the AI and opt-out functions are still in use.
